Ironman Australia Triathlon
There will be approximately 1,500 competitors, aged 18 - 75, competing from over 30 countries and from every State and Territory in Australia in the Ironman Australia Triathlon in Port Macquarie. The race consists of a 3.8 kilometre swim, 180.2 kilometre bike ride and a 42.2 kilometre run. Competitors have 17 hours to finish the race.
The race begins with the swim leg and will start opposite the Sea Rescue Headquarters. The bike course is one of the most spectacular Ironman bike rides in the world with the cycle winding along beside the Pacific Ocean on the beautiful and undulating Pacific Drive. The three-lap course incorporates the City Centre and provides excellent viewing for spectators.
The marathon course takes competitors along the Hastings River foreshores and along beside the beaches and parts of Pacific Drive which combines rolling hills with beautiful scenery to provide excellent viewing for both competitors and spectators.
